Welcome to the official blog of Technically Speaking! We’re not your average agency—we’re a student-run, faculty-guided team of aspiring advertisers and public relations pros, right here at Rochester Institute of Technology. Since our launch in the fall of 2022, we’ve been turning big ideas into even bigger results, and we’re so excited to share our journey with you.

Who Are We?

We’re a team of driven students passionate about connecting people, ideas, and brands. Think of us as your go-to for everything from creative campaigns to social media strategy. Guided by industry-savvy professors, we work with a range of clients to create content and materials that spark conversation and spread meaningful messages across the RIT community—and beyond.

Here’s the best part: Each year, a new group of students takes on the challenge of running the agency, ensuring our ideas stay fresh and our approach stays innovative. We’re constantly evolving, just like the world of advertising and public relations itself.

What Do We Do?

You’ve got goals, and we’ve got the skills to help you reach them. We’re a team of creative minds ready to help you connect with your audience and achieve your goals. Whether you're looking to build your brand, elevate your public relations, or create engaging content, we bring fresh perspectives and real-world experience to every project. Our services include:

  • Creating targeted content and messaging for our clients

  • Conducting in-depth research to understand audience needs

  • Crafting strategic campaigns that drive results

  • Building strong, trust-based PR relationships

  • Designing creative solutions that make your brand stand out

  • Creating compelling content for all media platforms

  • Developing social media strategies that engage and connect

  • Designing print and digital ads that make a bold statement

We blend creativity with strategy to deliver results that work, all while offering students hands-on experience in the advertising and PR industry.

Who Are We Working With?

Our clients are as diverse as our ideas. Right now, we’re proud to collaborate with:

  • LawNY: LawNY is a non-profit firm that provides free legal assistance to people in 14 counties in Western New York.

  • Friends of the Montezuma: A non-profit organization that works to protect and improve wildlife habitat in Upstate New York’s Montezuma Wetlands Complex.

  • Rochester Jr. Americans Hockey: The Rochester Jr. Americans (Jr. Amerks) are the largest youth hockey organization in New York State, with over one thousand players.

  • Reporter Magazine: Reporter is RIT’s independent, student-run magazine. It covers a range of topics, including campus news, local events, arts, culture, and student life.

  • The Dean of the College of Liberal Arts: Dr. Kelly Martin is the newly appointed Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at RIT.

And yes, we even put our own skills to work for the benefit of the team!

Why Technically Speaking?

When you work with us, you’re not just getting a team that’s passionate and forward-thinking—you’re also supporting a new wave of talent as we prepare to make our mark in the industry. It’s a win-win: You get innovative ideas and top-notch work, and we get invaluable experience working on real-world projects.

Stay Tuned!

We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to share what’s next. This blog is more than just a highlight reel of our successes—it’s also a space where we’ll share the lessons we’ve learned along the way, including the challenges and even the failures that have shaped us.

From behind-the-scenes looks at our projects to tips, insights, and stories about what happens when things don’t go as planned, this blog is where we’ll keep you in the loop. Every campaign, brainstorming session, and misstep is part of our journey to becoming better creators, strategists, and communicators.

We’re daring to say more, do more, and be more – and we’re taking you along for the ride.
